Car and real estate dealer Sheron Sukhdeo was charged with breach of a protection order after he was taken before a Chaguanas Magistrate today.

Sukhdeo, 28, was arrested on Tuesday and taken into custody by the Chaguanas Police.

In February 2016 Sukhdeo appeared in court on a charge of assault allegedly committed against his wife, Rachael Sukhdeo.

The charge was laid after Rachael Sukhdeo posted a series of photos of her alleged injuries on social media, creating a firestorm on the social network.

The case was dismissed eight months later after Rachael Sukhdeo told the court she no longer wished to pursue the case as she and her husband had reconciled.

She denied that her decision was made out of force, threaten or inducement.

Sukhdeo is the managing director of Sheron’s Auto and Real Estate in Chaguanas.

In February he was charged and appeared in court on two charges of receiving stolen vehicles and a charge of uttering a false document and was granted bail for both offences.

Shortly after midnight last  Sunday officers of the Chaguanas CID responded to a domestic disturbance at the Sukhdeo mansion.

The following day Rachael Sukhdeo took to social media where she posted on her Facebook account that she was okay and was grateful to those who were concerned about her.

However, police officers returned to the house on Monday where they recorded a statement from Mrs Sukhdeo.
